Power Center for the Performing Arts, University of Michigan Ann Arbor, Michigan Architect: Roche & Dinkeloo Architects Description: Theater framing used largest steel box girders at the time, along with steel framing and deck. Two large helical concrete stairs are the unique features in the lobby. |

OTB Teletrack Theater New Haven, Connecticut Architect: Herbert S. Newman Architect Description: A circular theater along with restaurants, betting windows, VIP areas, projection booths, etc. were constructed to facilitate live televised horse races and betting. Roof is structural steel built-up girders and beams. Auditorium floor is sloped concrete, while other floors are steel and concrete. Pressure-injected footings were used to overcome poor bearing conditions. |
