Academic Arts Building, Drew University Madison, New Jersey Architect: Roth and Moore Description: This project has three interconnected structures with three distinct uses: a four-story classroom/arts studio structure, a blackbox theater, and an administration/lecture hall. The supported floors are composed of a one-way concrete joist and beam system. Roofs are framed using custom timber trusses and wood deck. The entrance rotunda is constructed from precast concrete columns and ring beam with glue-laminated arch beams. |

Messiah College Student Union Grantham, Pennsylvania Architect: Cho Benn Holback + Associates, Inc. Description: This L-shaped building has, as one leg, a full-height multi-purpose room. Built-up structural steel columns, custom roof trusses, and a cantilevered roof edge highlight this area. The remainder of the structural framing is composed of concrete on form deck, open-web joists, and heavy steel shapes. |
